The album “Sucker” was conceived during Jilian Medford’s artist residency at The Outlier Inn in Los Angeles in the fall of 2022. Collaborating with co-producers Alex Craig and Isaac Eiger from Strange Ranger, as well as mixing engineer Al Carlson, Medford crafted the album’s demos. She explained that she embarked on this creative journey with an open mind, aiming to break free from her creative comfort zone. The spontaneity of the process, she noted, allowed her to produce material without overthinking it.
