Only a little over three weeks ago, Gorillaz had shared their plans for a brief U.S. tour set to occur in September. Unfortunately, they have recently called off the tour. Through emails, ticket vendors informed potential concert-goers:

Owing to scheduling difficulties and unforeseen events, the Gorillaz concerts slated for September have been called off. Reimbursements will be automatically administered at your purchase point and expedited as swiftly as possible, so there are no further steps required from your side. Please allow a maximum of 30 days for the refund process to complete.

Joining Gorillaz on their tour were set to be Kaytranada, Lil Yachty, and Remi Wolf. The ensemble was scheduled to entertain audiences in cities like Los Angeles, Austin, Chicago, and Boston. In a fresh statement, Gorillaz conveyed: “We are devastated that we won’t be able to put up a show for you this year. We had been eagerly anticipating it and we hope to return to you as soon as feasible. Our affection for the Gorillaz community is boundless and we are eagerly waiting for the moment we can reunite.”

Prior to publicizing the tour, Gorillaz had given a performance at Coachella in April. During both the weekends, Damon Albarn and his band were joined by performers such as Bad Bunny, De La Soul, among others.
