The New Yorker has revealed the roster for its annual cultural and discussion festival. This year’s agenda includes live performances by Paramore and Michelle Zauner of Japanese Breakfast, alongside a discussion featuring “Weird Al” Yankovic and New Yorker staff member Andy Borowitz. The event is set for October 6-8. Further details can be found here. (Note: Newsound and the New Yorker belong to the same corporate family, Condé Nast.)
Paramore released their latest album, This Is Why, earlier this year in February. They are also scheduled for a chat with Amanda Petrusich from the New Yorker at the festival.
Along with her performance, Zauner will participate in a conversation with Hua Hsu regarding her artistic journey. Since the release of Jubilee in 2021, Zauner has delivered cover versions of songs by Brandi Carlile and Yoko Ono, and was privileged to pitch the first ball at a Mets game. She initiated the search for an actor to portray her in the upcoming movie adaptation of her memoir Crying in H Mart in May.
