The Darkness Reveal 20th Anniversary Edition of “Permission to Land”
In honor of the 20th anniversary of their iconic album, “Permission to Land,” The Darkness has announced a deluxe reissue. Titled “Permission to Land…Again,” this special edition will be available on October 6 through Rhino. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, a demo of “Black Shuck” has been released alongside the unveiling of the reissue’s digital tracklist.
Originally released in 2003 under Atlantic Records, “Permission to Land” will now be presented as a 4xCD/DVD deluxe package. This comprehensive reissue will include rare B-sides, previously unreleased demos, and live recordings from three early 2000s shows in London. Fans can expect performances from the Astoria in 2003, Knebworth Park in support of Robbie Williams in 2003, and a 2004 concert at Wembley Arena. In addition to the audio content, the DVD will feature captivating footage from the Knebworth and Astoria shows, a captivating documentary titled “History of the Darkness,” music videos, and exclusive behind-the-scenes clips from the period surrounding the initial release of “Permission to Land.”
As part of their celebrations, The Darkness will embark on a U.S. tour this fall, commencing in San Francisco and concluding in Washington, D.C. Just recently, they had the privilege of opening for Guns N’ Roses at Hyde Park in London on June 30.
