Boston-based shoegaze group, Drop Nineteens, is making a comeback after a 30-year break with a music video for their latest track, “Scapa Flow.” This song is the introductory single off their forthcoming album Hard Light, scheduled for release on November 3rd through Wharf Cat. The album was put together by the band’s original members from their 1992 debut, Delaware — Greg Ackell, Steve Zimmerman, Paula Kelley, Motohiro Yasue, and Peter Koeplin. The group also unveiled a brief series of autumn tour dates, with support from Horse Jumper of Love, Greg Mendez, and Winter. Below, you can experience “Scapa Flow,” the complete track listing, and full schedule of tour dates.
Ackles initially revealed plans for Hard Light on Twitter last year, sharing that he had composed the majority of the album in Drop C# tuning and Zimmerman had added several tracks. The reunion of the band was prompted by their acquaintance, Cleveland-based musician Craig Rich. Hard Light is set to be the group’s third studio album, their first since the 1993 release of National Coma.
