The collaboration of Deftones’ Chino Moreno and producer cum multi-instrumentalist Shawn Lopez, known as ††† (Crosses), has revealed their first comprehensive album in nearly ten years. The record, titled Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete., is set to release on October 13 through Warner, marking a significant label premiere for the project.
The album showcases guest appearances by Robert Smith from the Cure and El-P from Run the Jewels. Accompanying the album’s announcement, ††† has also launched the premier single “Invisible Hand” and its corresponding music video. “While working on Goodnight, God Bless, I Love U, Delete., I experienced a surge of positivity in my life due to multiple factors,” Moreno explained in a media statement. “There’s a noticeable increase in optimism. Even the darker themes have a romantic undertone rather than emanating despair.”
††† launched their eponymous debut back in 2014. In the previous year, the pair unveiled a six-track EP titled Permanent.Radiant, which was later followed by a remix, featuring song revisions by Hudson Mohawke, Machinedrum, Suicideyear, and Away.
